One Short Day

One Short Day

Post by Elphaba on Sat Feb 26, 2011 6:38 pm

Elphie had traveled long and wide to reach Vitis City. The girl took her first day resting in the Pokemon center with her Pokemon, trying her hardest to make conversation with other trainers even though she kind of despised other people.

The girl heard a couple of trainers talk about this garden in the city. Apparently, it was one of the city's highlights, a place of zen or whatever to bring your Pokemon to relax and maybe, to battle. Elphaba decided to go there once she was ready.

The following day, she went out to look for the said garden, asking people for directions, it took her an hour give or take to finally reach her destination. The place was beautiful, trees, flowers, butterflies fluttering everywhere... Not really her type of place. Elphie sighed, it was kind of a let down for her.

"Oh well... At least there're wild Pokemon here. I could train these three boogers..." she said to herself dryly as she started to walk around the brush.

As the trainer arrived at the Garden, a wild pokemon that happened to be in front of her, a Sewaddle, looked at her. Despite the fact that with a quick look it looked quiet and nice, the pokemon was very aggresive and wanted to attack anything that happened to be in front of its path. It said "Sewaddle!" as it attacked the trainer with a Tackle attack before she could say anything to it... What a pokemon...

Before the girl could actually respond, the Sewaddle tackled her out of nowhere. Elphie fell on her butt, giving out a shriek of pain from the sudden impact of her coccyx bone hitting the ground. The girl rubbed her behind, gritting her teeth as she eyed the bug. Elphaba gave out a grin despite the pain that was shooting up her spine.

"Heh, finally I found one!" said the girl, taking out a pokeball.

Elphaba slung the ball in front of the Sewaddle and released her new Cyndaquil. The fire-type was obtained from a breeding facility that she passed by on her way to the city.

"Cyndaquil, use leer on the Sewaddle!" pointed out the girl.

She wouldn't rush her actions this time, this time, she actually have the pokemon that she was looking for and she wouldn't let this opportunity slip.

The wild Sewaddle looked at Cyndaquil that was using Leer and its defense stat was lowered. However, it was still eager to battle and defeat the trainer's pokemon. It shouted "Sewaddle!" as it used String Shot on Cyndaquil. If the attack was successful, it would follow with a Tackle that would be aiming for the fire type pokemon's chest. The battle between the bug/ grass type pokemon and the fire type had just started and it seemed like it would last for a while...

Cyndaquil was about to run toward the Sewaddle when the worm shot string out of its mouth and tripped the fire-type. Upon seeing the opportunity, the Sewaddle darted towards Cyndaquil and hit him with a successful tackle that sent Cyndaquil rolling back a few feet.

"Cyndaquil, be careful! Get the feel of the fight and attack it with a tackle when you see an opening!" Elphaba instructed.

The girl admired the determination and fighting spirit of the worm. This fueled her wanting to beat and catch the Sewaddle. Not only is it cute, it's also tough. At least in the girl's mind.

The wild pokemon looked towards Cyndaquil with an aggrivated face. It shouted "Sewaddle!" as it took a deep breath, relaxing its body and boosting its speed dramatically. Unfortunately for the fire type pokemon that bug/ grass type pokemon had just used Agility! The pokemon was very special. Except from the standard moves it would normally have, it also had an egg move! After using the speed boosting move, the pokemon easily dodged the Tackle attack by jumping right before it was struck by the tackle and at the moment Cyndaquil was right below it, it pointed its head towards the fire type pokemon in order to strike it with a Tackle attack to the head and cause it some damage.

"Damn that worm's gewd......." the girl said dryly but with clenched fists.

The Cyndaquil gingerly stood back up, trying to shake off the counter of the Sewaddle. Elphie, who continued to look on, gave her fire-type her next orders.

"Cyndaquil, stay calm. Focus. Wait for it to attack then counter its move with a tackle..." the girl said calmly to not make her Pokemon rattle.

She couldn't blame Cyndaquil since its still very young and this is his first battle. But its determination and the will to battle made the girl smile as he stood there, feet spread apart in a balanced manner and waited for the Sewaddle to continue on its roll, waiting for an opening, a small mistake to capitalize on.

The wild pokemon managed to hit the Cyndaquil but it seemed like the damage was lessened due to the fact that its attack was a counter attack from Cyndaquil's previous Tackle. Then, Cyndaquil hit the Sewaddle as well. The pokemon, received some more damage than Cyndaquil received from the previous Tackle because it was affected by the Leer attack that the fire type pokemon used in the begining of the battle. However, it would not give up. With its quick speed, it started charging towards Cyndaquil once more and tried to go for a Tackle attack to give it some real damage and defeat it!

"HOLD YOUR GROUND!" the girl yelled.

This was the opportunity she was waiting for. A high-risk counter was on her mind, the Sewaddle had the speed they needed to try and end this thing. Elphaba gave immediate orders to the Cyndaquil as the worm charged towards the fire-type.

"Cyndaquil, side-step when its a feet away from you and tackle it!" the girl pointed out.

Sewaddle was darting at Cyndquil at a high speed. The fire-type followed his trainer's command, side-stepping in a split-second, leaving the Sewaddle's side open for the tackle which he was about to take. Elphaba looked on, hoping that Cyndaquil could land the attack successfully.

Despite the fact that the strategy of the trainer was very smart, Sewaddle's speed had increased to such an extend that it could immediately dodge after seeing through the plan. As soon as the pokemon stepped aside, the bug type pokemon jumped in the air, just like before and landed on the ground in a way that its back was looking at Cyndaquil's back. Then, it turned towards Cyndaquil and with an angry look at its face it said "Sewaddle!" as it tried to strike the fire type pokemon's uncovered back with a Tackle attack.

"Cyndaquil, use leer! Now!" the trainer yelled as the Sewaddle was about to hit with another tackle.

Elphaba could only look on as the worm hit her fire-type again, and again making him roll a few feet back. Cyndaquil had taken a couple of hits now, the Sewaddle only one. But if the leer had any effect, their next attack, if it lands, might end the battle.

"Listen to me, suck it up... I know you can do it. Wait patiently and tackle it when it tries to attack again..." instructed the girl.

Hopefully this next round can be theirs so they can end this small skirmish. The girl has been itching to get one of those bugs for a while now.

One hit might have been enough in regards to fire type attacks - but two tackle attacks, even accompanied with a leer attack, wouldn't be enough to knock a pokemon of an equal or higher level out. The Sewaddle shuddered in response to the leer attack, but it didn't make any move to escape. It clearly expected to win this battle. It took a deep dramatic breath, before shooting a bunch of silk from it's small puckered mouth - attempting to wrap Cyndaquil's feet up. His feet, specifically.

"Sewa!" The creature cried as soon as it finished shooting said silk. It squirmed forward slowly.

"Cyndaquil, get out of that uh, get out and tackle the Sewaddle!" cried out the girl.

The situation was getting annoying but fun for the girl. She was right to hunt for a Sewaddle. The toughness that it was showing at the moment was a bit unparalleled. Elphaba was itching to switch Pokemon but she wanted Cyndaquil to finish the fight, even if it meant losing. At least the fire-type would gain experience in the battlefield.

The bug continued approaching; it didn't stop even for a moment, taking advantage of the opportunity that it's previous string shot attack provided. "Sewa!" It cried, squirming forward at surprising speeds, before finally stopping abruptly just before the tangled up Cyndaquil. Without a moment's hesitation, the bug leaned forward and chomped down, hard, onto the fire types big nose. Bug Bite; it did a lot of damage, despite coming from a tiny little thing like Sewaddle. The bug was latched on - it continued digging it's tiny teeth into Cyndaquil's nose, keen on not letting go.
